[Perhaps if Kaname weren't so used to playing Teacher's Pet she'd be embarrassed, but the way she sees it there's no harm in being in the good graces of the people pulling the strings. The real trick would be finding the balance between being a good, cooperative recruit and an annoying suck up. With that in mind she think this might be her last attempt at a gift for a while.
Yet that doesn't stop her from showing up "early." Armada never really specified a time other than "later in the day," and personally she'd be pissed if she took the time out of her day for someone and they were late. So Kaname is probably there an hour or so before Armada plans to meet her. Though standing out in the cold for so long does cause her to look a little chilly and fairly miserable.
Her displeasure over the weather might actually be a little comical because her hardened and sour look contrasts greatly with the five foot fur pillow she's holding. The thing is almost as big as she is, and if it weren't so light and fluffy it would have probably been a pain to drag over.
Whatever. At least this will clear her conscious, and she'll no longer feel indebted.]
[ Armada splits his time between coasting near the rover, and his duties. His particular brand of work does not require him to be as stationary as others, giving him the freedom to do this. Kaname is early, Armada can trace her particular signal before he has arrived. He appreciates the fact that she is not tardy— he isn't a person who likes to be kept waiting. A possible side effect of the company he keeps.
His gun is slung over his shoulder, leaving the front of his body and both hands free when he approaches, and though he does not see his helmet is angled toward her long before he is in speaking distance. ]
[As soon as Kaname hears his voice she stiffens up. She stands straight, and instead of digging the front of her boot into the snow the girl parts her feet shoulder width away from each other. Finally. Frostbite was only one of her worries from standing still so long out in the open. Though nervousness does creep its way into her. She felt fairly confident upon arriving, but meeting instructors in person seemed to make her feel... incredibly small. Not just because of her height, either.]
You- [Ah, her voice cracked a little. She clears her throat, and starts again.] You said he likes soft things, right? It's a large fur pillow.
[Her eyes focus on him intently as if he were a threat. Honestly in some way almost everyone here could be considered one, but with Armada's rank he's surely more dangerous than any fellow recruit. Though there is a bit of curiosity mixed in. The helmets that Armada and Warriorhead really do have her in a bit of awe every time she sees them. Were it not for the life threatening circumstances Kaname would probably be a little thrilled to be living out something similar to the Sci-Fi Action films she used to watch.]
[ Underneath his mask, Armada feels through each small signal Kaname gives off. He has had some time to filter through the differing responses from the recruits. The changing reactions to him are always curious. Some were much more afraid of him than others. At times, he wonders if this is wholly due to his rank, and if they would be more afraid of him if they knew the full scope of what he could do.
The pregnant pause extends until his helmet angles toward the pillow. After a moment, he holds out his hand. He won't take it from her. He expects it to be gifted. ]
[With his hand extended she offers the pillow to him gently setting it in his hands. If he has felt it before then Armada will recognize it as Madu fur.]
No, but I did work for it. [Not that he cares, but that little detail is important to her. It makes her chest swell with a little bit of pride. A smile tugs at the corner of her lips, but she struggles to keep an even face. Then something else occurs to her-]
I also checked it out- um. There's nothing potentially dangerous about it. If... that's what you were wondering.
[ Armada moves the palms of his hands through the fur, taking a moment to inspect it as she speaks. Whether she made it or not is inconsequential. Armada is personally more impressed by those that put the work in, and while she may not have fashioned it herself, her response to his question makes it clear enough that Armada is satisfied. ]
If it was, you wouldn't still be standing here.
[ There's a reason Warrior's gifts go through him. ]
[A chill runs down her spine despite the fact she was expecting as much. Kind of the stereotypical Big Bro type, huh? At least she could understand, and relate to, that much with having a younger sibling of her own. She scratches at the back of her neck for a moment while trying to figure out if there's anything else she wants to address. However the chill from the environment and her unease with Armada means that she probably shouldn't draw this out with an attempt at cheap conversation.]
Your help with this is appreciated.
[With that said she raises a hand to wave goodbye (more out of habit than trying to be familiar) and starts to make her leave.]
[ Armada could act as an envoy, but the real test was if Warrior would accept the favor from her or not. He expected his brother would, Madu fur was particularly soft and they hadn't come across something quite like it for a number of planets. ]
Tell me if you want to give him anything else.
[ This is both an offer and a (polite) demand. He doesn't wait for her response, however, and turns to make his way to Warrior's rover with the pillow. ]
